Day 49

Decent day. Another late get out of bed, only managed by 10 am. Had woken up hopeful of a walk free today, with non stop rain in the forecast. But alas the rain gods decided to spare us for exactly the usual walk window, so I could make no excuses! Ended up being quite nice, good weather, nice route, excellent behavior, discovered a little farm complete with chickens and a greenhouse, and managed his pooping and my peeing without adverse incidents! Then another bike sesh, some very thorough cleaning, basement reorg, shower, skincare etc. Basically a nice full day. A little bit of reading and R100 in the evening, and good healthy meals throughout. 

Just finished a nighttime call to mom - shes officially shifted and it all sounds very promising. Good neighbor lady, nice community feel, security, amenities, staff, services etc. Seems well supported with old friends and relatives, and on her way to making new ones. Feeling somewhat of a sense of relief at last. Fingers crossed and knock on wood etc. ofcourse. 

All in all chalking today up to a good day. A long way from happy and healthy, but we'll take it.

Day 171

Early start. Walk, lake, kayak, sunshine after ages. The kindness of weather gods and people who cater to those that need it with pancakes, burgers, potatoes, popsicles and spicy margs. No one over heated, no one got bitten to bits, although two of us got overstimulated, one with fomo, the other with exhaustion. Day 21

Started thinking this on the walk. Thought I would write it then. And make these be a collection of scribbles through the day that I publish at the end of the day. But ofcourse I didnt, so here is the recap. Every single day when Crae goes for his walk, he is so intentional. So decisive. Knows exactly which way he wants to turn or which neighborhood or street or bush or field he wants to explore that day. Ofcourse he is also constantly stopping to smell the proverbial roses and open to changing his course depending on the path that smells more interesting, so there is something to be noticed about the way his explorations are equal parts intentional and spontaneous. Dang, so many things to emulate with this child! In other news - good spirits, good energy, frankly some good deep sleep. My brain on almost 2 back to back days of decent sleep.
