Day 45

A gift of a rest day.

Didn't feel that way when the alarm rang in the morning. Another fight to get up on time, one that I finally lost. Dragged up first at 9.15, but came back from the loo and simply had to slumber on sleeplessly until 10. Hopefully the extra hour won't come back to bite me.

Then lots of texts to catch up on, with all girls reporting life progress. Subs killing it at all things work, life and career. Jabs killing it at health and consistency and dedication. Sowm acing the relationship and experience and adventure goals. Ruchu just forging on despite all that shes got going on. This and the combination of the rought night, sleepless days, overall pain and tiredness and failed get out of bed on time moment from the morning brought on a spiral before I knew what was hitting me. Only recognised it when I started sniping away at boy within 2 seconds of being vertical.

This boy has learnt to be excellent in a crisis. Said all the right things to get me off the ledge. Calmed me down. Helped me gather myself for the priority, which was REST day. Then proceeded to supply me with homecooked poha, an array of snacks and bevvies and endless Netflix and chill to take away all the stress. Love.

The other thing filling my cup - little catch up texts with Ash, Niru and Sam, hearing them care and remind me they miss me and no one is taking my place was a big gift. So much to be grateful for.

So there we have it - all the makings of a pretty perfect rest day. Leaving it energized, refreshed and rejuvenated to try again tomorrow. Tomorrow the clocks will forge forward by an hour and the temperature is an unbecoming 10 degrees already. As much as I am not looking forward to the end of winter, may it usher in some sort of spring.
